We’re pleased to announce three new study abroad programs in the College for September and Autumn quarter, 2020.
The September Law, Letters, and Society (LLSO) course in Paris provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to earn an upper-level LLSO credit by exploring European perspectives and institutions focused on economy, law, and globalization in an intensive three-week course, “Governing the Global Economy,” taught by Professor John Levy (History; Social Thought; LLSO). This course will satisfy the GLST major requirements in the following tracks: Governance and Affiliations; Knowledge and Practices; Cultures at Work.
The September Study Abroad course in Hong Kong provides undergraduate students with a view of varied aspects of urban life on a global scale and the opportunity to earn Global Studies course credit in an intensive, three-week course, “The Global Urban,” taught by Professor Marco Garrido (Sociology). This course will satisfy the GLST major requirements in the following tracks: Governance and Affiliations, and Cultures at Work
For Autumn Quarter 2020, the Francis and Rose Yuen Hong Kong: Gender and Sexuality in World Civilizations Program aims to provide students with a global perspective on gender and sexuality with three courses: 1) GNSE 15002, “Gender and Sexuality in World Civilizations I,” taught by Dominique Bluher (Cinema and Media Studies), 2) GNSE 15003, “Gender and Sexuality in World Civilizations II,” taught by Kristen Schilt (Sociology); and 3) “Art and Cultural Transformation,” taught by Patrick Jagoda (English). (Note: The Art course number will be announced at a later date.) These courses will satisfy the GLST major requirements in all four of the GLST tracks.
